Thank you to everyone helped us to celebrate the launch of our new website by entering our competition.
The competition has now ended and the winners of the double passes to the Australian National Maritime Museum, Sydney have been directly contacted via email and the passes mailed to them.
The winners visited our new website – www.missiontoseafarerssydney.org.au – and gave us useful feedback on what they learned about our work or just something they liked about what we do.
Comments included that the site helped them to understand why a warm welcome was helpful to seafarers from around the world and that they enjoyed hearing the passionate media interviews about how the Mission gave joy to seafarers. In response to our new website, people have also kindly shared comments like “you do so much than we realised” and “it’s interesting that the Chaplains deliver so many of the ‘ordinary’ services, which must make them so much more accessible when the seafarers have something they need to talk about”.
Thank you to the MuSEAum for their support. The tickets will allow the winners and a friend to experience everything open on the day at the MuSEAum including their impressive fleet of vessels, 3D cinema and exhibitions. If you missed out, you can still get a ‘See it All’ ticket for $25 so you can go aboard the Australian-built replica of James Cook’s HMB Endeavour, one of the world’s most accurate maritime replica vessels and then see the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition (Closes 8 October 2023). From a dugong skeleton to digital installations, the exhibition Shaped by the Sea shares thousands of objects and stories that circumnavigate our past. There is so much to see and do at the MuSEAum!
